On Saturday, April 16, R Baby Foundation’s annual tennis tournament took place at MatchPointNYC for the second year in a row. The center’s co-founder, Dmitry Druzhinsky is happy to announce that more than $250,000 was raised at the event, which hosted tennis professionals and Wall Street’s leading financers.
Month: February 2017
The center’s rhythmic gymnastics center, basketball court, Yoga studio, and full size gym boasting top of the line equipment allow MatchPointNYC to accommodate for athletic events that other sports clubs simply cannot, according to Dmitry Druzhinsky. The USA SAMBO Open Championship, a gathering of the world’s masters of Sambo and Judo, had participants from twelve different countries meet at the facility to determine the World Champion of the sport. In an initiative of community outreach, politicians from Brooklyn and the Bronx competed in the Johnny Ray Memorial Pro Wall Ball Tournament, using the competition as a platform for these prominent local leaders to speak about the importance of public health and youth empowerment.
MatchPoint NYC offers an impressive array of equipment and amenities over its three-acre facility, including a restaurant and a juice bar. Most notably, says Dmitry Druzhinsky, the 120,000 sq. ft. facility feature an expansive, nine court indoor tennis center, the largest in Brooklyn. Local and international tennis stars frequent the grounds, including Kazakhstan’s Aleksandr Nedovyesv and Dinara Safina, the former number one women’s player in the world. The R Baby Foundation, a charity aiding hospital programs for endangered newborns, has hosted MatchPoint its New York Tennis Tournament at MatchPoint for two consecutive years, a competition played by Wall Street’s elite financers and has raised over $500,000.
